Paver Installation Process

1. Demolition: Remove your old hardscape, breaking up and hauling it away

2. Excavating Soil: Next, we remove the existing soil to a total depth of 6 to 8 inches.

3. Set Grades: We grade the soil for proper water flow, and to match the final vision of your paver design.

4. Compact Earth: This stablizes any loose soil and gives a firm foundation to build upon.

5. Basework: Install several inches of compacted crushed rock or class 2 base.

6. Screed Sand: Install 1 inch of jagged edged sand that is screeded out to precise measurement.  This gives the pavers an even bed to be layed upon.

7. Lay Pavers: The basework is complete and we start laying the pavers in the pattern you choose, making sure the pavers are layed tighly, and aligned perfectly with your house.

8. Cut In Border: We finish the edges of your design with a full-paver border.  The outer stones are cut to fit perfectly within the border.

9. Bond beam: All border stones that abut softscape or any unsecured edge are wet-set into a cement mixture that locks the entire field between a solid perimeter.

10. Plate Vibrate: We use a plate vibrator to force the paving stones into the sand bed, starting the interlocking process.

11. Sand Joints: More sand is brushed from the top into the joints between each paver.

12. More Plate Vibrating: The sand is vibrated into the joints until all space between pavers is filled, ensuring a complete interlock.

13. Clean-up: The pavers are then swept and hosed down.

14: Enjoy!: The driveway, patio, etc. can be used the day it is finished.
